About us
Kürzi Kakao was created in the spare room of an apartment in Zürich, Switzerland from the desire to make creative and indulgent plant-based chocolate varieties inspired by delicious food experiences from around the world. What started as a small experiment in the spare room of an apartment in the city has now moved and expanded into multi-room bean to bar chocolate making facility and a team of 5 passionate chocolate lovers located in the beautiful town of Schindellegi.
Founders
Kürzi Kakao is a family business and was founded by Britta & Martin Kürzi. As foodies, their goal is to offer indulgent and delicious chocolate with a unique twist in a country that is world famous for chocolate.
Britta grew up in the USA and has been living in Switzerland since 2017 after moving from Asheville, NC following her marriage to her husband Martin.
Britta's favorite chocolate is the malted almond chocolate with Florentine. Martin's favorite chocolate is the caramel blonde with 72% dark chocolate chips. For their daughter Eleanor, it's still a bit early for chocolate.
Head Chocolatier
Victoria has been a chocolatier and pastry chef with our team since March 2022. She is the professional who has helped us launch many new delicious chocolates that have brought us fame.
Victoria has over 16 years of experience working with chocolate and pastries in hotels and even owned her own chocolate shop in Argentina!
Since joining our team, she has learned the Bean to Bar process and brought passion, creativity and organization to help systematize our processes and produce more new creations and innovations than ever before.
When she's not making chocolate, she spends time with her two children, works in the garden or paints watercolors. Her favorite chocolate is the 72% dark chocolate with hazelnuts.

We make 100% of our own chocolate, from the cacao bean to the finished bar. This means we retain complete control over every step of the process to ensure the highest quality.
